My first feature film, The Sculptor, completed principal photography in early 2008. I'll be producing and directing at least two more features for Skyview Films.
In the past seven years I’ve written, produced and directed several hours of drama and comedy, along with many hours of commercial video, tv pilots, music videos, experimental projects and short films. I've also produced and directed over 300 visual FX shots.
I am the author of two novels, many short stories and a handful of non-fiction books. My film-making book Master Shots will be published in early 2009.
I was born in the North of England, but have lived in Australia for over a decade.
I've been fascinted by the poetry of Ted Hughes for more than twenty years. Ted illuminated a number of magical codes in his work. I became interested in the occult around the same time I became obsessed with Ted, and the two can't really be separated for me. One way or another this informs just about all my work.
